Configure Log Analytics

Log Analytics is a tool in the Azure portal to edit and run log queries. We are leveraging Log Analytics as an inexpensive storage medium for storing custom inventory data collected from Windows devices. This data is then synchronized to Power BI to be used in BI for Intune.
Prerequisites:
- Prior to starting these steps, you should create a Log Analytics workspace as described by Microsoft in this article.
- If you are using Windows Update for Business Reports, you should use the same Log Analytics workspace.
Step
Step 1
- In the Azure portal search for, and select, Log Analytics workspaces.

- Select the Log Analytics workspace where you will store the custom inventory data.

- Select Access control (IAM).
Step

- Select Add.
- Select Add role assignment.
Step

- Search for Log Analytics Reader.
- Select Log Analytics Reader.
- Select Next.

- Select Assign access to: User, group, or service principal.
- Select +Select Members.
- Search for and select the name of the Enterprise App Registration that was created when you installed BI for Intune.
- Select Next.

- Select Review and assign.

- Select Agents management.
- Record the Workspace ID for later use.
- Record the Primary key for later use.
