BI for SCCM Version 5.0, shown as version 1007 in AppSource, was released on September 21, 2022. Below are the changes in version 5.0.

  1. Features:
    • New Environmental Impact pages help customers reduce the cost of energy wasted and CO2 emissions by devices that are left powered on when they are not in use:
      • “Environmental Impact Monthly”
      • “Environmental Impact Daily”
  2. Enhancements:
    • Added a new field, “Is Latest Execution” in the “Task Sequence Executions” category in the data model. This field can be used to filter out all but the latest execution of task sequences on devices.
    • Added a new field, “Is Latest Execution” in the “Package Deployment Execution” category in the data model. This field can be used to filter out all but the latest execution of package deployments on devices.
    • Monitors with the manufacturer names of “HPN” and “HWP” will be displayed as “Hewlett Packard (HP)” in reports”
    • Computers with chassis type “30” will be displayed as “Tablet” in reports.
    • Added new “Display Name” field in the User category in the data model.
    • Added a new fields, “Is Sleep Supported” and “Is Hibernate Supported” in the “Computer” category in the data model.
    • Added new dataset parameters to allow for customization of the Environmental Impact reports. The default kWh values are based upon averages for the power consumption of devices in various power on state. The default cost per kWh is based upon average energy cost in the United States. The default cost Carbon Factor is based upon average carbon factor per t/kWh in the United States.
      • “Power Carbon Factor (t/kWh)” (default: 0.00069)
      • “Power Cost of kWh” (default: 0.10)
      • “Power Day(s)” (default: 7)
      • “Power Desktop On (kWh)” (default: 0.07)
      • “Power Desktop Sleep (kWh)” (default: 0.003)
      • “Power Laptop On (kWh)” (default:0.02)
      • “Power Laptop Sleep (kWh)” (default: 0.001)
      • “Power Monitor On (kWh)” (default: 0.028)
      • “Power Month(s)” (default: 6)
      • “Power Server On (kWh)” (default: 0.24)
      • “Power Server Sleep (kWh)” (default: 0.003)
      • “Power Tablet On (kWh)” (default: 0.015)
  3. Important Notes:
    1. If you wish to disable the Environmental Impact reports set the “Power Months” and “Power Days” parameters to “-1”.
    2. To estimate future environment impact based upon upcoming cost increases you change the Cost of kWh (in %) in the reports using the new “What if” parameters on the Environmental Impact pages.
    3. To change the currency displayed on the Environmental Impact pages use the “Currency” filter on the Environmental Impact pages. The default currency displayed is “$”.  (Note: If multiple currencies are selected at the same time “$” will be the displayed.)
    4. If you would like to copy the new pages to your existing custom reports, see our blog on How to Copy Pages from One to Another Report.
