They provide pre-built dashboards for device health, compliance, software inventory, security posture, and more — without requiring a separate data warehouse or ETL pipeline.

BI for Intune and BI for Defender connect via the Microsoft Graph API using an Azure AD app registration (delegated or application permissions). BI for SCCM connects directly to your ConfigMgr SQL database through Power BI Gateway. No middleware or agents are needed.

Most customers do not need Power BI Premium — a Power BI Pro license works well for the majority of environments. However, Pro enforces a 2-hour dataset refresh time limit, while Premium allows longer refreshes. Whether you hit that limit depends largely on the dataset parameters you configure — our products let you choose which data to pull in, and adjusting those options can significantly reduce sync times. For larger enterprise environments with extensive data, Power BI Premium may be recommended to ensure refreshes complete without interruption.

Yes. The Power BI templates are fully editable. You can modify existing reports, add new pages, change visuals, and create custom measures. The documentation includes guides on report editing and customization.

All data stays within your environment. The BI products query your data at refresh time and store it in your Power BI workspace. PowerStacks does not have access to your data.
