Version 1.39.0 Preview 13 October 12, 2026 (Preview)

Release Date: October 12, 2026

This preview includes everything in Preview 11, and changes how apps are published from the App Catalog. The fields that decide what gets packaged can no longer be edited by mistake, and every piece of app information you enter now reaches Intune, including the URLs, owner, developer, notes, featured setting, category and logo. A custom WinGet repository is now used for the App Catalog and for packaging, not only for update checks, and you can refresh the catalog on demand. Upgrades from 1.38 and earlier, which failed in Preview 9 to 11, work again.

  • All the app information you enter reaches Intune. The publish wizard now sends Information URL and Privacy URL to Intune, and adds Featured app in Company Portal, Developer, Owner, Notes and Logo. Category puts the app in the Intune category of that name. See App information.
  • A custom WinGet repository is used everywhere. When Catalog Repository URL names your own repository, the App Catalog is built from it and packaging reads it. A private repository needs a GitHub personal access token. See WinGet repository URL.
  • Refresh the App Catalog when you need to. Saving a different repository URL rebuilds the catalog straight away, and Sync catalog now refreshes it on demand, with the result of the last refresh shown underneath.
  • Resolved packaging or detection failing after Name, Publisher or App Version was edited in the publish wizard. These fields now come from the package and are read-only.
  • Resolved Information URL and Privacy URL being shown in the publish wizard but never sent to Intune.
  • Resolved apps in a custom WinGet repository failing to publish because packaging always read Microsoft’s repository.
  • Resolved logos in formats Intune does not accept being uploaded and then missing in Intune. Only PNG and JPEG files are accepted now.
  • Fixed an update app sending a JPEG logo labeled as PNG.
  • Resolved upgrades from 1.38 and earlier to Preview 9, 10 or 11 stopping at startup with HTTP 503.
  • Preview only. Deploy it for evaluation with Release Channel set to Preview (Early Access). Keep production deployments on Latest.
  • Logos must be PNG or JPEG. Files in other formats are refused when you upload them. Files are not converted.
  • Changing the repository URL changes the App Catalog. Apps the new repository does not contain are removed from the App Catalog. Apps already published to Intune stay, and are checked for updates against the new repository.
