App Tags

Tags are free-form labels you apply to apps to organize and filter the catalog. An app can carry up to 10 tags. Unlike a category, where each app has one, tags are many per app, so you can label an app by business unit, app type, persona, or anything else that helps you find and group apps, and reuse the same tag across your catalog.

Tags are applied by administrators. End users see them as labels on the apps they browse and can filter the catalog by them.

Applying Tags to an App

Go to App Management and open the app’s settings wizard (select Edit on the Visibility & Store section).
On the Visibility and Store step, find the Tags field.
Start typing. Suggestions appear from tags already used in your catalog. Select one, or type a new tag and press Enter to add it.
Each tag becomes a removable chip. Remove one with its x, or press Backspace in the empty field to remove the last tag.
Select Review + Save to apply.

Coloring Tags

Give tags colors so they stand out on the catalog.

Go to Store Admin > Settings.
In the Tag Colors section, choose a color for any tag.
Save.

Colored tags render as colored chips on the catalog cards, the app detail page, and the admin app list. A tag with no color shows as a neutral chip. Colors are keyed by tag name, so a color you set applies everywhere that tag appears, and the label text automatically switches between light and dark for readability.

Filtering by Tag

End-user catalog: use the Tags filter to show only the apps carrying a tag.
Admin app list: in App Management, use the Tag filter the same way.

Filtering by a tag pairs well with the catalog’s multi-select: filter to a tag, select all, and request the whole set in one action.

Tags and categories are complementary:
